Pile-drivers and beat-downs showcase the Hot-Tempered Turtle!

In an exclusive interview with Moviefone.com, Michael Bay confirmed that his Ninja Turtles will not be aliens:

“There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We’re not. It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they’re going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great.” – Michael Bay, Moviefone.com

To add, TMNT Lair is reporting that Paramount has announced that the film has been renamed as the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the script has been rewritten by Snow White and the Huntsman scribe Evan Daugherty.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Raphael mo-cap actor Alan Ritchson defended Michael Bay’s direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

During the interview, Ritchson tells THR.com “the frustrating thing for me since I’ve signed on is that you hear that it’s already got a reputation. People assume they know what it’s going to be about, and those people are wrong… You want to tell everybody how great it is, and you can’t really say why, but it is.”

Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has it’s Splinter!

Deadline.com is reporting that Watchmen/Seinfeld star Danny Woodburn is set for the role of Splinter.

Michael Bay has confirmed that the roles of the Turtles (and likely Splinter) will be filmed in a mo-cap style similar to Avatar and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Danny Woodburn joins the growing cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles along side Megan Fox (April O’Neil), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), and Will Arnett (unknown).

GameSpot’s Maxwell McGee caught up with Red Fly Studio’s Chris Frechette and Kris Taylor to discuss designing the Turtles for TMNT: Out of the Shadows.

Contrary to the excitement of the announcement, the first glance at the Turtles of TMNT: Out of the Shadows caught many off guard. These Turtles were grittier, scarier, and more realistic than ever before.

Fans were put to ease when IGN released a gameplay commentary video, showing off TMNT:OotS’s Arkham Asylum/City brawling mechanics and refines Turtle animations.

Now, to put our doubts further to rest, GameSpot’s Maxwell McGee caught up with Red Fly Studio’s Chris Frechette and Kris Taylor to discuss designing the Turtles for TMNT: Out of the Shadows:

“One of our main goals when we started this project was: if you see one of these turtles alone and without any color identification, you need to know who it is.”

“We worked really hard with [Haunte] to develop these shape symbols, which helped define the turtles both mentally and physically. You’ll notice Leonardo is a triangle, which is a focused and sharp shape because he’s the focused leader of the group. That shape is worked into his physique, his face, and even the angles of his eyes. I think that really helped us get these characters feeling as unique as they do. Longing for a dose of the original TMNT? Season 2 may have you covered!

In an exclusive interview with USA TODAY, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles producer Ciro Nieli discussed five upcoming developments of the new series including the future of Baxter Stockman, the scale of the show becoming more epic as the season comes to a close, the return of Mutagen Man, maintaining the Turtles’ legacy, and a crossover with the classic TMNT to come in season 2!

“The second season of TMNT will feature a one-hour special with special cameos by the original voice actors from the 1987 cartoon in their old roles, including Cam Clarke (Leonardo), Townsend Coleman (Michelangelo), Barry Gordon (Donatello) and Paulsen (Raphael).

It’ll be a story point, too, that brings classic and current Turtles together.

“We all have a nostalgia for these characters in all their incarnations, and any time we can serve it up, we take the chance,” Nieli says. “The trick is finding a way to do it where it doesn’t feel wedged in, where you don’t even see it coming.

“I really like doing that stuff because I do have respect for the old stuff,” he adds. “I try not to geek out but it’s more like you just feel some pride in what you’ve been able to be responsible for. Like, yep, there they are — Turtle reunion. It’s not as cool as a Zeppelin reunion, but being able to bring something together, I’m thrilled I get to do that.” – USA TODAY

In an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter, Will Arnett (Arrested Development, Up All Night, 30 Rock) has been cast for an unnamed role in Michael Bay’s upcoming Ninja Turtles.

“Arnett’s role is being kept secret, though still uncast from the Ninja Turtles mythology are Splinter, the turtles’ sensei rat, and the villainous and masked Shredder. Arnett is not playing the turtles’ human friend Casey, another role that has yet to be cast.” – The Hollywood Reporter

Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles is slated to release June 6, 2014, delayed from Christmas 2013. Just before a draft script has been leaked, Paramount put production on hold. Shortly after the supposed hiatus, Production Weekly confirmed that Ninja Turtles would begin shooting in April 2013. Rumors of Corey Feldman joining the film have circled (he is confirmed for Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Megan Fox and the Turtles have been cast. In late March 2013, shooting began in Big Tupper Ski Area in Tupper Lake, New York.

Allow IGN’s Mitch Dyer and Rich George to quell your doubts…

With Activision’s announcement of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows video game, many die-hard fans had reservations about the model design and gameplay.

IGN’s exclusive look at the pre-alpha gameplay footage seem to have quelled most of the doubts. Check out IGN’s Mitch Dyer‘s and Rich George‘s exclusive pre-alpha gameplay analysis:

As you can see, the battle mechanics seem simpler to that of Batman: Arkham Asylum/City and the models have been a bit more fleshed out. The facial details are much more animated and the overall art style is a realistic take on Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Last year, rumors began circulating that Rocksteady, developers of Batman: Arkham Asylum/City, would be heading up the project. While the rumors turned out to be false, there is no doubt that the fan excitement over the idea sparked influence over the Activision/Red Fly Studio vision.
